Jail Support
Upon the release of the 41 activists that were arrested in Adam's Morgan, NW DC.
In the early hours of August 14th, 2020, 41 peaceful protestors were beaten, dragged, and arrested by DC police and threatened with Felony charges. They say "only those that were engaged in rioting behavior" were arrested and this couldn't be further from the truth. Dozens of innocent, peaceful protestors, and press were kidnapped by the MPD. A couple of days later activists gathered outside the jail to greet their comrades as they were released with hugs, food, water, shoe laces, etc., and sent them on their way in Ubers to recover their confiscated belongings from various police departments. For some reason, their personal items were scattered and stored in various inaccessible areas of the city.
